Which unit size do I need? Boxes converted to m²
Short answer: 1 m² holds 10 to 15 moving boxes. A cellar compartment fits into 2 m². The furniture of one room needs 3 m², a two-room flat 5 m². With 3 m ceilings you can subtract about a third because you can stack.

Estimate it yourself
Imagine stacking everything as tightly as possible on one footprint and as high as you can reach. With 2.65 m ceilings in Zell am See, boxes up to 1.8 m are realistic; with 3 m in Saalfelden and a step stool, up to 2.2 m. Measure the stack length by width and add 20 percent for an aisle and access.
Common mistakes
Booking too small. This happens more often than too large. If space runs out you can switch to a larger unit in the customer portal, but an honest estimate up front is easier.
Forgetting the door. Door clearance is 0.8 to 0.9 m wide and 2.0 m high. A wardrobe must be dismantled; a washing machine fits.
